Both alterations and repairs are straightforward. However, with my skill set and a fitting service (which is chargeable). I am able to tackle complicated jobs which other similar services might reject. This is because my knowledge of how a garment is constructed allows me to see through to the second dimension (a garment as flat cut pattern pieces ) from the third dimensional – the pieces sewn together and formed.
My customers are sometimes more creative than I am. Bringing me old garments with creative ideas of how to make them wearable. For these services I charge by my time.
I also do invisible mending, which is nearly always by hand, and again I can only give estimated prices.
I really believe in upcycling our wardrobes where possible, especially as good quality fabrics with high thread counts are hard to find nowadays.
